Project Spotlight: Sacred Heart Cathedral

GBE Group is proud to have recently completed an electrical upgrade at one of Newcastle’s most iconic landmarks — Sacred Heart Cathedral.

As part of the project, we replaced the Cathedral’s old and redundant Distribution Board with a fully compliant, modern system. This upgrade ensures safer, more reliable power distribution that aligns with current Australian Standards and supports the long-term electrical needs of the site.

In addition to the switchboard replacement, we installed a C-Bus Lighting Automation system throughout the Cathedral. This advanced technology provides smart lighting control, improved energy efficiency, and flexible lighting options that enhance both functionality and ambiance — ideal for a heritage space that balances tradition with modern utility.
